Engine Laboratory

This laboratory equipped for familiarization and practicing of all trainees and students College of Maritime Leadership Innovation .The laboratory houses different types of engines and equipment’s that able to students and trainees to familiarize thoroughly. The laboratory has two four-stroke diesel generators, lube oil purifier, economize, and boiler. It also has drilling machines and grinder and more.

The laboratory is located in the Academic Building I at University of Makati.

ENGINE LAB

AUTOMATION LAB

Automation plays a major role in operating ships, specially that technology nowadays continues to develop. Automation is used in the ship's maneuvering system, boiler, even the operation of pumps is now contriolled automatically. Learning the principles of automation will help specially onboard.

The CMLI has an automation training unit wherein the students can learn the basics about automation. The instructors will guide the students passionately until they can operate the training units by themselves.

Electro Laboratory

ELECTRO LAB

The CMLI has an electrical traing unit that can be used to train the students in operating and understand the principles of electronics. Guided by expert instructors and engineers, learning about electronics will be an easy task in the cmli.

Engine Room Simulator

ERS

One of the exquisite facility of the College of Maritime Leadership Innovation is the engine room simulator installed with Kongsberg Simulator (ERS). There are 8 computers and 1 server that contains the different programs about engine room trouble shooting, procedures and instructions. It is the Kongsberg simulator that provides the engine simulating of the students became possible and reliable to use because it has visual and realistic content about all the possible machinery in the engine room and how to use and operate it properly. It includes cold ship, preparation, dead ship, running condition and other condition of the ships engine that may occur onboard. And each of this contains

fresh water system,
seawater system,
refrigeration ,
lubrication system,
main engine propulsion system,
control panels ,
panel boards ,
service air system ,
boiler , lubrication ,
auxiliary machineries a
and many more detailed information that completes the components of the engine room .

The students can easily understand the principle of the machineries and process of the engine room. And can be accessed fast because it is offline and efficient for using with the air conditioned room. The engine room simulator is compliant with STCW 2010 requirements, International Maritime Organizations (IMO) and resolutions. This useful tool for students is provided on the College of Maritime Leadership Innovation for improvement and progress of college. To have fine and best seafarers molded from our very own college to compete and be known all over the world.
